An exhibition about Women’s Liberation Music Making in the UK. It will showcase how feminists used music as an activist tool to entertain and empower women during the 1970s and 1980s. It brings together for the first time a diverse collection of women’s cultural heritage to inspire and inform contemporary audiences about the politics of music making.

Music & Liberation will draw on, and collect new material for, the Women’s Liberation Music Archive, an online blog launched in May 2011 by Frankie Green and Dr Deborah Withers.

Space Station Sixty-Five look forward to seeing this important online resource in a physical format, and to welcoming what is sure to be an amazing and diverse audience to this event. SS65 will be curating events and talks relating to the exhibition.
